Job Requirements
The Business Analyst supports agile software development teams by delivering technical and tactical assistance that enables high-quality, user-focused solutions. This role requires strong collaboration, flexibility, and initiative. The Business Analyst serves as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear understanding and alignment on project goals and requirements. Impact: The Business Analyst plays a crucial role working in aligning stakeholder expectations with the team's technical capabilities. By gathering requirements, managing product backlogs, and coordinating with internal and external teams, this role ensures that the product delivers maximum value. Their input helps optimize product delivery, identify risks, and continuously improve operations through data-driven insights and competitive research. Responsibilities:
- Gather and maintain coherent, clear documentation to provide developers, product owners, leadership, and users a shared understanding of the purpose, function, and terminology of the app's features.
- Translate business needs into epics, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria for development teams.
- Define and support acceptance testing, definition of done, and value propositions.
- Identify and document project issues and risks; support resolution and mitigation and forecast solutions and cost implementation.
- Analyze competitive products and user needs to identify market opportunities.
- Develop operational rollout and support plans.
- Conduct business analysis research to enhance product efficiency and performance.
- Collect and analyze data to inform business decisions and product improvements.
Work Experience
Skills and Competencies:
- Have experience with Agile Coaching and Release Train Engineering (Required)
- Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Information Technology field focusing on projects and UX Design specifically.
- Have experience with architecture & design experience, including at least three (3) years of experience providing Business Analysis expertise for enterprise applications on AWS.
- Experience using product management and ticketing tools (e.g., Jira, GitLab, Trello, Confluence, Tableau, Databricks, AWS).
- Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to facilitate presentations and adjust messaging for technical and non-technical audiences
- Critical thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to influence others and build relationships across teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace/G Suite.
Additional Qualifications and Project-Specific Needs:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- The ability to pursue learning to become a SME on decisions and processes from outside of the program, such as newly implemented regulations and executive orders, that will impact the work we need to complete; use that learning to provide context to the team.
- The ability to deeply understand the interrelationships of the app's features so that you can design testing documentation which accounts for new features' intended results and their potential downstream consequences.
- The ability to identify and document patterns in language and work processes so that they can be applied to new features, ensuring a sense of cohesion throughout the app.
- Have experience in conducting organizational studies and evaluations, design systems and procedures, conduct work simplification and measurement studies, and prepare operations and procedures manuals to assist management in operating more efficiently and effectively.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or during meetings.
- Must be able to travel occasionally to client sites or company meetings.
- Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person, requiring clear speech, listening, and written communication skills.
- Ability to move within an office environment, including reaching for files, using office equipment, and occasional light lifting (up to 10 pounds).
