This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Program. ECHO is part of the UW Asthma, Allergy and Pulmonary Research Center and the Department of Pediatrics at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. Understanding the effects of environmental exposures on child health and development is a priority for the National Institutes of Health. ECHO combines observational and intervention research to answer big questions about how influences on early human development, even before birth, affect us throughout our lives and across generations. ECHO focuses on five pediatric health outcome areas: pre-, peri- and postnatal; upper and lower airways; obesity; neurodevelopment; and positive health, such as happiness and a sense of well-being. Because ECHO scientists have many different areas of expertise, research can look at the whole child, not just one disease or outcome area. The primary goal of the ECHO Cohort is to bring diverse participant populations together into one large ECHO Cohort so that ECHO investigators and the wider community of scientists can address research questions about effects of a broad range of early environmental exposures on child health and development, questions that no smaller study can answer alone. The ECHO cohort follows children and their mothers (and some fathers) long-term. In most cases, it recruited participants prenatally. The ECHO Clinical Research Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Principal Investigator, other ECHO coordinator and lab staff, and ancillary staff including but not limited to physicians and researchers to conduct the ECHO protocol. Clinical assessments will be conducted, questionnaire information collected, and biological and environmental samples collected on the mother and child in the prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal periods of the child's life. Compensation:The starting salary for each title is as follows but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Effective July 1, 2024, the U.S. Department of Labor Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires that positions earning less than $43,888 annually be considered non-exempt under FLSA provisions for overtime. Based on these rules, if the person selected for this recruitment will earn less than the new salary threshold at July 1, 2024 ($43,888 annually), they will be an academic staff non-exempt employee, will be paid hourly and will receive overtime compensation for any hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
