Essential Duties



  • Uphold CW's mission and values while demonstrating professionalism in all tasks.

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dining area, including wiping down tables, chairs, counters, and service stations before, during, and after meal periods.

  • Set up and break down dining areas by arranging tables, chairs, utensils, napkins, and condiments according to facility standards and meal schedules.

  • Restock service stations with clean utensils, trays, cups, napkins, condiments, and other dining supplies to ensure uninterrupted meal service.

  • Collect and transport used dishes, trays, and utensils from dining areas to the dishwashing station promptly and efficiently.

  • Assist with dishwashing operations, including loading and unloading dish machines, hand-washing delicate items, and organizing clean wares for reuse.

  • Monitor and replenish beverage stations, including coffee, juice, water, and milk dispensers, ensuring cleanliness and availability throughout service.

  • Dispose of trash and food waste in accordance with sanitation protocols; replace liners and maintain cleanliness of waste receptacles.

  • Sweep and mop floors in dining and service areas regularly to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.

  • Follow all safety and hygiene protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), chemical handling procedures, and food safety guidelines.

  • Report maintenance or safety issues such as spills, broken equipment, or supply shortages to supervisors promptly.

  • Provide courteous assistance to diners, including answering basic questions, helping with tray transport, or directing them to appropriate service areas.

  • Actively participate in all required training programs and demonstrate ongoing proficiency in company-mandated training throughout employment to ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and best practices.

  • Perform any additional duties and responsibilities, as needed.


Qualifications and Educational Requirements



  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is not required for this role.

  • Experience: Entry level position; experience is not required.

  • Additional Requirements: Basic understanding of cleanliness and customer service principles. Basic understanding of workplace safety practices, including proper lifting techniques and chemical handling. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and respectful attitude toward coworkers and patrons.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Previous experience in a food service, hospitality, or institutional dining environment.

  • Previous experience working as a custodian, janitor, or similar role, particularly in food-related settings.

  • Basic understanding of proper dishwashing procedures, including three-compartment sink use and machine operation.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with coworkers, supervisors, and facility patrons.

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to remain focused and productive in fast-paced or high-volume dining environments.

  • Strong attention to detail when cleaning, organizing, or restocking supplies.


Physical and Environmental Demands



  • Work Environment: The position primarily operates in a commercial kitchen or dining facility environment. The incumbent will be exposed to high-traffic, fast-paced areas, including food service lines, scullery, and restroom facilities.

  • Extended Hours: Occasional extended hours may be required to meet operational needs, especially during peak service times, or to address urgent staffing or facility issues.

  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate cleaning equipment, handle utensils, wash dishes, and manage tools is required. Tasks like scrubbing, mopping, and lifting supplies also require dexterity and physical coordination.

  • Bending, Kneeling, and Stooping: The role requires frequent bending, kneeling, or stooping to perform cleaning tasks, inspect areas, and retrieve or place items on lower shelves or in cabinets.

  • Lifting and Carrying: The position involves lifting or carrying cleaning supplies, food service materials, or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. The role may also require moving large bins, boxes, or bags of supplies between storage and work areas.

  • Pulling and Pushing: Frequent pulling and pushing are required, especially when moving carts, trash bins, or heavy equipment. These tasks may involve exerting force to move items through the facility or repositioning cleaning tools.

  • Visual and Hearing Acuity: The ability to distinguish cleanliness standards, identify hazards, and read reports or inspection logs is crucial.

  • Good hearing is required to effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and customers in a busy environment, and to be aware of any potential hazards or safety issues.

  • Physical Activity: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift up to 50lbs, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.

  • Noise Level: The work environment may be noisy due to the operation of kitchen appliances, food service equipment, and team activity. The ability to stay focused and maintain clear communication during high-noise periods is required.

  • Temperature: The position involves working in varying temperatures, from the heat of the kitchen to cooler areas such as storage and scullery. Proper attire and ability to adjust to temperature fluctuations is necessary.
