WAGES AND BENEFITS

$61,000 annual salary; Paid vacation time, sick time, plus nine paid holidays and three floating holidays; competitive health, dental, and vision insurance; Health Savings Account (HSA), and options for Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). There is employer paid basic life insurance with the option for additional coverage paid by the employee. The employer pays for Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) and short- and long-term disability insurance. FWS sponsors a retirement plan with 3% employer match and immediate vesting.

SCHEDULE

This position may include some evening hours as there are quarterly participant events as well as the need to stay flexible for meeting with families. The role is fully in person with future opportunities to have a more flexible and hybrid schedule.

A Typical Day in the Life...

A typical day as FamilyWise's Youth Parent Support Program Manager provides an opportunity to manage services for families, supervise staff, complete reporting requirements, and to coordinate referrals and staffing in the Bright Beginnings program. Bright Beginnings is FamilyWise's Youth Parenting Program, serving pregnant and/or parenting youth up to the age of 24 that are interested in parent education, mentoring and group parent education classes. Responsibilities will include the following:



  • Receiving, verifying, and assigning referrals.
  • Communicating with county workers regarding case statuses.
  • Planning and evaluating the Bright Beginnings Young Parent Education Program.
  • Completing monthly billing and monitoring collections.
  • Working with contract managers to resolve billing issues.
  • Developing and maintaining partnerships to benefit families.
  • Creating and implementing new policies and procedures in consultation with senior leadership.
  • Collecting statistical information and program outcomes.
  • Monitoring the field for best practices.
  • Marketing the program to counties and community organizations.
  • Providing a secure and neutral environment for young parents and their children.
  • Maintaining and facilitating parent education groups in community settings.
  • Conducting parenting observations and providing feedback on interaction skills.
  • Preparing timely monthly written reports.
  • Attending collateral meetings with referring agencies.
  • Developing and implementing individualized service plans with participants.
  • Coordinating and communicating with county workers, partners, and stakeholders.



Who You Are



  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or another relevant field, or you demonstrate equivalent knowledge gained through alternative education and life experience. A master's degree is preferred.
  • You have a minimum of two years of experience in a management role.
  • You possess knowledge of the human services sector and preferably have experience working in a nonprofit setting.
  • You preferably have experience supervising employees.
  • You demonstrate a willingness to learn a variety of tasks and possess excellent communication skills.
  • You demonstrate a desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • You have the ability to work independently, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • You have knowledge and/or experience around working with diverse groups, particularly individuals from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • You possess strong conflict management skills.
  • You are competent in Microsoft Office, including Word, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • You are able to travel to client sites within a 15-mile radius of the office


  • You must successfully pass all required background screenings.
  • You have a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet FamilyWise's driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
