Are you passionate about patient care and skilled in drawing blood? We're looking for a detail-oriented, patient-focused professional to join our healthcare team. As a Phlebotomist, you'll play a critical role in supporting diagnostics and treatment by collecting and processing blood specimens with care, accuracy, and empathy.
What You'll Do:
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws using various methods (vacuum tubes, syringes, butterfly needles, heel/finger sticks).
Explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort and addressing concerns-especially during challenging or first-time draws.
Monitor patients for adverse reactions and assist in recovery if needed.
Ensure the safe and proper disposal of sharps, biohazard fluids, and tissue in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Accurately enter patient, specimen, insurance, and billing information into electronic systems.

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred MGH Security RMV Check/Registry of Motor Vehicles Driving Report - MGB Internal preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of various techniques in collecting specimens.
- Familiarity with HIPAA and OSHA Regularities and an ability to maintain absolute discretion over highly sensitive patient information.
- Talking to others to convey information effectively.
- Demonstrates proficiency of proper collection methods and proper processing of all specimens.
- Superior customer service skills, clear communications skills, and ability to show empathy and respect for patients' privacy and autonomy.
- Knowledge and practice of proper aseptic techniques necessary to prevent injury to self and patients.
