Primary Function:

Troy 7, Inc. is seeking a skilled Production Engineer to support ongoing missile system testing and evaluation efforts. This role involves coordinating and overseeing production-related aspects of missile testing, including stand firings, soldier-fired events, vehicle-based launches, and captive carry flight tests. The Production Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring that system upgrades are effectively validated against baseline configurations by supporting data collection and analysis across a wide range of environmental conditions. Responsibilities will include test planning, hardware integration, troubleshooting, and collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure the missile systems meet performance, reliability, and safety standards throughout the test lifecycle.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and coordinate all aspects of production planning for complex defense programs.
  • Conduct in-depth technical evaluations of production proposals to assess feasibility, cost realism, and compliance with technical and contractual requirements.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, tooling, and processes.
  • Provide technical support to production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve product flow.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and production plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, quality, supply chain) to support new product introduction (NPI) and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all production processes meet applicable government regulations, safety standards, and contract requirements.
  • Support audits, inspections, and documentation requirements related to government projects.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Implement lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 16 years of experience in a production engineering or manufacturing support role.
  • Must have an active Secret security clearance.
  • Experience working on government or defense contracts (DoD, NASA, etc.) or in a regulated industry.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrial equipment, and quality systems.
  • Familiarity with government contracting regulations (e.g., DFARS, MIL-STD, AS9100, ITAR).
  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Working Environment:

A fast-paced multi-tasking customer service-oriented environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. Adaptability regarding schedule and task changes is necessary to accommodate changing priorities. Some travel is required, depending upon program requirements. Overtime may be required.
