Scope and Dimensions: * Manages material procurement for the plant, collaborating across departments * Ensure timely and cost-effective supply, while also overseeing all aspects of production planning, execution, quality control, and safety. -Accountabilities: Strategic Procurement & Forecasting: * Analyze market trends and production schedules to accurately forecast material needs and develop effective purchasing strategies. * Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities to enhance profitability. * Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring reliable delivery of quality materials and negotiating favorable terms. * Escalate material shortages that impact production planning. Purchase Order & Inventory Control: * Manage the end-to-end purchase order process, from initiation to delivery. * Supporting and managing physical inventory. * Maintain optimal inventory levels, conducting cycle counting to analyzing inventory gaps. INTERNAL & BUSINESS ONLY * Oversee BOM usage and reconciliation of used material, as well as scrap and waste consumption post-production runs. Production Planning & Execution: * Develop and provide comprehensive production plans for all relevant production lines (e.g., PU production lines IM34, LM26, Mix Room; PVC lines LM40, EL35, Mix Room). * Track production runs from start to finish. * Schedule test belts and test belt runs (TRs) to minimize impact on customer production schedules. * Manage work order planning and entry into MES, including discrepancy reviews and reconciling virtual travelers. * Provide daily updates on meters produced by PU and PVC lines to support targeted goals. * Coordinate shipments with the shipping clerk, including documentation of BOL and providing labels. Quality Assurance & Communication: * Ensure purchased materials meet quality standards. * Quantify quality hold materials and ensure timely dispositions. * Provide timely updates on material availability, pricing, and delivery schedules. * Track and communicate OTDR (On-Time Delivery Rate) and OTDC (On-Time Delivery to Customer), striving to meet targeted goals for these metrics. * Provide a comprehensive data package for the General Manager's weekly report, updated on all targeted production goals. Order Coordination & Sales Review: * Receive orders, coordinate order completion, and interface with the customer base (e.g., MIR, Franklin Park, Mexico). * Review budget sales targets versus actual sales Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field. * Proven experience in both procurement and production planning/scheduling within a manufacturing environment * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Proficiency in forecasting material requirements and using procurement software, ERP systems (e.g., NAVISION), and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). * Excellent communication and negotiation skills. * In-depth knowledge of inventory management, BOM usage, and reconciliation. * Ability to coordinate complex schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.
