The Opportunity: The Banquet Captain plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of all banquet events. This individual is responsible for managing the banquet team, coordinating event logistics, and delivering exceptional service to our members and their guests. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to providing a memorable dining experience.

Duties and Functions:



  • Supervise and coordinate all banquet functions, including weddings, corporate events, and private parties.
  • Manage banquet staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure all events are set up according to club standards and client specifications.
  • Oversee the service of food and beverages, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to confirm event details and address any last-minute changes or concerns.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food service.
  • Maintain inventory of banquet supplies and equipment, ordering additional items as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including sanitation standards.
  • Handle guest complaints and special requests with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Conduct pre-event briefings with staff to ensure everyone is informed of their duties and event specifics.
  • Assist with the breakdown and clean-up of banquet spaces following events.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, fostering a welcoming and elegant atmosphere.


Qualification Standards:



  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry, preferably in banquet or event management.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including wine service and menu planning.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and point-of-sale systems.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
