Social-Emotional Coach

Mt. Tom Academy, one of several alternative educational programs at CES, is hiring a Social-Emotional Coach to work with individual students to build social-emotional skills and overcome obstacles to success in school.

In addition to working one-on-one with students, the Social-Emotional Coach will also provide coordination of services including mentoring, outreach and support services to increase student and family engagement. Working collaboratively with other team members, the Coach helps to design individual student success plans that will remove barriers for student academic and future success.

This position requires:

• Bachelor's Degree in counseling, education or related field (Masters' in Social Work or Counseling is ideal, but not required)
• Demonstrated counseling, mentoring, restorative justice practice, or related experience with high school students in a student-focused setting.
• Education or experience working with students with learning, behavioral, and/or social emotional challenges.

This is a part-time school-year position, working up to 15 hours/week during regular school hours (8am to 3pm), with occasional afterschool hours to meet the needs of students and families (eg, parent-teacher conferences, events, etc). Salary range: $32 to $50/hour, depending upon experience and qualifications).
