JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The University Health Services Pharmacy (a division of Student Affairs) is seeking applicants for the position of part-time certified pharmacy technician. This is a part-time in-person position with no remote or hybrid work.

Job duties to include:

  • Interpreting prescriptions and accurately inputting necessary information
  • Ensuring proper care and maintenance of robotic dispensing system
  • Accurately retrieving correct medication, accurately counting dosage units and assembling medication for final inspection by pharmacist
  • Responding to patient inquires by reviewing patient files, verifying pertinent information and updating patient records as needed
  • Receiving prescriptions from patients, IVR, and web based prescription refill system
  • Assisting in maintaining adequate inventory of medication and supplies, checking medications for expiration dates and handling according to established practices
  • Processing orders from all campus locations and university departments
  • Processing Third Party insurance claims, troubleshooting Third Party insurance rejections
  • Running cash register, assisting at intake window and answering phones as needed.

Requirements, qualifications, and/or competencies:

  • Candidate must follow HIPAA and all applicable Pennsylvania pharmacy laws and regulations.

  • Candidate must have CPhT certification and previous pharmacy experience.

  • Candidate must have the ability to compute basic pharmaceutical calculations.

Schedule:

  • This position will work varied hours Monday thru Saturday between 7:30 am-6:00 pm with an average of 10-20 hours weekly.
