JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS The Department of Anthropology, in collaboration with Erick Rochette in the College of Liberal Arts, is seeking a qualified and motivated Teaching Assistant (TA) for the Fall 2025 (FA25) semester. This work would include:
- Complete all assigned tasks supporting the course as directed by the course instructor (e.g., recording participation/attendance, assisting with maintenance of question banks, creation of exams)
- Attend all lectures and any required lab or discussion sections
- Participate in any scheduled meetings with course instructor and/or other TAs
- Be present and prepared for all labs, discussion sections, or review sessions that I am assigned
- Respond in a timely manner (generally in less than 24 hours) to course instructor's emails, texts, or other communications
- Responding in a timely manner (generally in less than 24 hours) to student inquiries regarding grades, meetings, absences, or other issues that arise
- Be present and prepared for all scheduled office hours
- Grade assignments and return work to students by the specified deadlines
- Proctor all exam periods assigned, including the final exam
- Keep an up-to-date grade book throughout the semester, making students' grades easily available to them (e.g., on Canvas), and submitting final grades by the specified deadline
