ABOUT THE ROLE
The Environmental Manager will lead and oversee the environmental management practices and compliance of our construction operations. The Environmental Manager will focus on electrical utilities and construction, working to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, managing environmental aspects of projects, and developing and implementing environmental programs. This will include tasks such as providing environmental training, evaluating proposed construction activities for environmental impacts in consultation with the utility, liaison with utility environmental staff and environmental consultants and promoting a culture of environmental responsibility. This position will ideally be located in the Plover, WI area. Essential Functions
- Compliance & Regulation: Ensure adherence to environmental laws, regulations, and standards at the local, state and federal levels
- Function as a principal technical advisor and coordinator for environmental issues
- Program Development & Implementation: Create and execute environmental management programs, policies, and procedures
- Environmental Audits & Assessments: Conduct regular audits to identify and address potential environmental risks and areas for improvement
- Interpret and apply environmental specifications and drawings, avoiding and minimizing adverse effects to the natural environment and local communities
- Sustainability Initiatives: Develop and implement strategies to promote sustainable practices, resource conservation, and waste reduction
- Training & Education: Provide environmental training to employees and stakeholders to foster a culture of environmental responsibility
- Communication & Reporting: Effectively communicate environmental performance, risks, and initiatives to relevant stakeholders
- Preparing projects requires reports and communication of environmental risks to project management
- Team Management: Supervise and lead environmental teams or personnel, providing guidance and support
- Liaison & Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and consultants
- Attend field visits with the client and regulatory agencies
- Liaise with the client, providing them with design information, schedule details, quantities etc. ensuring they are aware of any unanticipated discoveries, critical permitting, and compliance issues
- May work at various field locations where conditions may vary
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
- Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a company-designated office or field location

ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing environmental compliance for construction projects
- Minimum 3 years of experience with permitting and agency coordination
- Utility electric construction experience preferred
- Hands-on experience with environmental permitting processes
Preferred Education
- Bachelor's degree in an environmental sciences, health or engineering field
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of environmental science, engineering, and related fields
- Working knowledge of SWPPP, BMPs and erosion control measures
- Solid understanding of relevant federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills for reporting, training, and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to identify, assess, and resolve environmental issues
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage environmental projects effectively
- Ability to lead and motivate teams, foster collaboration, and drive environmental performance
- Ability to perform work safely and effectively

- Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
