Senior Manager, Security Operations

You will be joining the Corporate Security Organization as a Security Operations, Senior Manager as part of the Verizon Security Assistance Team (VSAT). VSAT has responsibility for processing government issued clearances, handling classified contracts and facilities, responding to civil and criminal legal demands, handling life-threatening/emergency requests for Verizon records 24x7x365, effectuating lawfully authorized electronic surveillances, evaluating products/technologies to ensure CALEA compliance, implementing and testing CALEA solutions, administering and securing CALEA architectures, expanding VSAT's Outreach Program for law enforcement and public safety communities and maximizing cost recovery.

The Security Operations, Senior Manager is great at balancing competing priorities and multiple projects in a time-sensitive and ever-changing operational environment. You are a motivating leader who cares for and develops your team to their fullest potential. You are highly analytical and skilled in interpreting trends, creating executive level presentations and driving projects to completion.

Responsibilities will include managing the following, but are not limited to:

• Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide valuable insights and recommendations that drive strategic decision-making across the VSAT organization.

• Working with limited direction, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to senior management.

• Developing a quality assurance program to deliver world-class customer experience while recognizing outdated routines & evolving them accordingly to ensure best practices for safeguarding customer and business records.

• Driving the execution of strategic programs set forth by VSAT Leadership to enable innovative solutions critical to individual metrics, operational results and organizational KPIs.

• Synthesizing technical jargon to concisely and clearly communicate to direct reports, senior leaders, stakeholders and strategic business partners.

• Executing and maintaining well-written mitigation plans.

• Liaison to the enterprise for technology and strategy matters.

• Creating and maintaining executive level presentations for strategic transformation and operational initiatives including business cases for funding.

• Cultivating new and maintaining existing strategic partnerships both internally and externally.

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

• Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

• Eligibility to apply for, obtain and maintain the appropriate government security clearance.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Extensive knowledge of VSAT's processes and systems.

• Workforce planning and/or leading a team in a 24x7x365 operation.

• Strong facilitation skills with the knack for tailoring the approach to the audience; often on the fly.

• Capacity to deliver on multiple projects in a time-sensitive and dynamic operational environment and to work as a self-starter; independently and as part of a team.

• Experience orchestrating large scale events, invitations, registrations, and logistics.

• Propensity for finding creative and innovative solutions to operational inefficiencies.

• Highly effective leadership abilities that can influence and inspire highly functioning technical teams.

• Positive, proactive, persistent, and self-motivated attitude with strong interpersonal skills that can motivate cross-functional teams.

• Extensive knowledge of Verizon's key business drivers, processes, and systems.

• Practical oral, interpersonal, and written communication and presentation skills up to C-suite level executives.
