Job Summary
Responsible for aligning business objectives with Partners and management in designated business units. Provides guidance to management on human resource-related issues, with oversight from the Manager, Human Resources. Acts as an employee champion and change agent. Assesses and anticipates HR-related needs and communicates needs proactively with our HR department and business management.
Essential Duties
- Serves as subject matter expert and provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced HR Partners.
- Support the HR team with special projects as needed.
- Provides support to TD Partners by answering questions on various HR related topics and resolves employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. Works closely with management and Partners to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
- Handles various Human Resources programs and procedures, such as, the termination process and all related paperwork, including unemployment claims. Represents the company in all unemployment claim matters.
- Conducts new employee orientation and exit interviews.
- Provides day-today performance management guidance to include: coaching, counseling, career
development and corrective action. - Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Utilizes succession planning programs and integrates search activities to align with the succession plans and talent/competency gaps.
- Analyzes trends and metrics with the HRBP Team to develop solutions, programs and policies. Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures consistent with the Partner Manual.
- Supports organizational training and development efforts and makes recommendations based upon performance and development plans.
- Ensures maintenance and communication of records and compliance activities as required by law or local governing bodies.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
- High School or GED is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is preferred.
- SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus
- 4-6 years of related, progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a generalist or advisory role
- Experience with employee investigations strongly preferred
- Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and experience with HR databases and HRIS systems.
- Strong analytical and research skills with a demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception through completion.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise judgment on complex decisions within standard policies.
- Aptitude in problem-solving.
- Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach.
