Job Summary
This position performs MRI procedures ensuring patient safety, accurate imaging, and quality control. Responsibilities include patient screening, positioning, operating MRI equipment, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and documenting procedures in the EMR.
Job Responsibilities
- Interview patients prior to MRI procedure for safety.
- Ensure patient safety, using approved identifiers in the MRI suite.
- Explain the MRI process and instruct patients to obtain optimal imaging results.
- Safely set up, operate, and adjust MRI equipment.
- Ensure safety for patients, operators, and visitors within the magnetic field zone.
- Prepare patients for procedures by positioning and adjusting equipment.
- Maintain clean and organized MRI rooms and equipment.
- Perform image quality and calibration tests; report malfunctions.
- Manage imaging supplies inventory.
- Evaluate images for quality and accuracy, and present them to the Radiologist.
- Effectively use EMR to document and access patient data and imaging results.
- Perform related work, as assigned.
Education Requirement
Required Education:
- Associate's degree from a Radiologic Technology program.
Preferred Education:
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Valid license as a Radiologic Technologist issued by NYSDOH.
- Advanced-Level Certification from ARRT or ARMRIT.
Preferred Certifications & Licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Required Skills & Experience:
- One (1) year of MRI experience, Relevant Equipment.

Schedule Notes
- Shift: 1p-9p on weekdays and 4p-12m on weekends with alternating weekends.
- At least 1 year of MRI experience.
- Must have level 1 trauma CTR experience.
- Experience with Client and Philips equipment.
- Current certification and registration in MRI issued by ARRT or ARMRIT.
- NYSDOH Rad Tech license required.
- 8:00 AM-4:30 PM and alternating weekends required.
- Interviews - In person; open to virtual if candidate is not local.
- Weekends/Holidays required.
- Training will be for 2 weeks, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., including the EPIC class.
