MRI Technologist (000032)

This position performs MRI procedures ensuring patient safety, accurate imaging, and quality control. Responsibilities include patient screening, positioning, operating MRI equipment, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and documenting procedures in the EMR.

• Interview patients prior to MRI procedure for safety.
• Ensure patient safety, using approved identifiers in the MRI suite.
• Explain the MRI process and instruct patients to obtain optimal imaging results.
• Safely set up, operate, and adjust MRI equipment.
• Ensure safety for patients, operators, and visitors within the magnetic field zone.
• Prepare patients for procedures by positioning and adjusting equipment.
• Maintain clean and organized MRI rooms and equipment.
• Perform image quality and calibration tests; report malfunctions.
• Manage imaging supplies inventory.
• Evaluate images for quality and accuracy, and present them to the Radiologist.
• Effectively use EMR to document and access patient data and imaging results.
• Perform related work, as assigned.

Required Education:

• Associate's degree from a Radiologic Technology program.

Preferred Education:

• N/A

• Valid license as a Radiologic Technologist issued by NYSDOH.
• Advanced-Level Certification from ARRT or ARMRIT.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Required Skills & Experience:

• One (1) year of MRI experience, Relevant Equipment.

• N/A

• Shift: 1p-9p on weekdays and 4p-12m on weekends with alternating weekends.
• At least 1 year of MRI experience.
• Must have level 1 trauma CTR experience.
• Experience with Client and Philips equipment.
• Current certification and registration in MRI issued by ARRT or ARMRIT.
• NYSDOH Rad Tech license required.
• 8:00 AM-4:30 PM and alternating weekends required.
• Interviews - In person; open to virtual if candidate is not local.
• Weekends/Holidays required.
• Training will be for 2 weeks, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., including the EPIC class.
