Job Description

REPORTS TO: Pre-Make Lead

SUMMARY:To ensure the quality, integrity and serviceability of print cylinders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Following company policies and procedures ensure all cylinders received are recorded and visually inspected for damage during shipping. Cylinder location is recorded and cylinder is stored in racks in Pre-Make Ready Area.
  • According to company policies and procedures remove correct cylinders listed on set up sheets identifying and logging rack number.
  • Following safety procedures, remove cylinder to work bench to inspect for serviceability. Follow procedures for moving correct cylinder to staging area prior to installation on press.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork to ensure the correct job number, cylinder number, unit number and color is correct for particular job on press.
  • Remove cylinders at job finish according to company policies and procedures ensure that all bearings are properly removed and cylinder is cleaned and safely returned to correct location in rack.
  • Maintain and clean all sumps as required ensuring sumps are properly assemble and disassemble according to procedures. Maintain schedule of wash solvent changing (every three weeks). Follow correct documentation according to MSDS sheets.
  • Properly disassemble and clean cylinder without damage ensuring cylinder is thoroughly cleaned and safely removed and stored.
  • Operate PRI Washer according to manufacturer's specifications and procedures ensuring all policies and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Maintains and follows all company policies and procedures for OHSE personal protection, and hazard materials/waste handling according to established guidelines and 40 CFR. This employee may be responsible for hazardous waste proper documentation (including completing manifests and weekly inspections), providing hazardous waste training, proper handling and transporting of hazardous waste, and/or acting as an emergency coordinator in the event of an emergency involving hazardous waste.
  • Follows all personal protection procedures by use of appropriate personal protective equipment at all times while in designated areas and specific tasks requiring the use of PPE.
  • Follows established procedures and guidelines for handling and disposal of all hazardous materials/waste.
  • Maintain and wear proper uniform according to company policies.
  • Use Company provided safety lifting equipment, i.e., hoist, jacks, vacuum manipulators, etc.
  • On a regular basis, examines work areas to keep it in safe and neat condition, including but not limited to proper grounding, clean up ink and solvent containers.
  • Follow all Clean Vision requirements maintaining the Pre-Make areas in a clean and safety working environment at all times.
  • Complies with cGMP, HACCP Food Safety Requirements and Chain of Custody Program Requirements.
  • As an active member of the Pre-Make Team participate in all team meetings and group discussions. Support all other Production groups at all times.
  • Understand the OHSE obligations, actively support the policy and to implement the guiding principles in their everyday activities.
  • Any and all other duties as may be required or requested.

EDUCATION:

  • High School or G.E. D. required.

REUIREMENTS:

  • One (1) year previous experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Annual Hazardous Waste (external training) if applicable

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Is required
  • This position may require prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending and/or reaching, balancing, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, hearing and speaking.
  • Must be able to hold, touch, feel and manipulate with hands and equipment in a safe manner. Manual dexterity is required.
  • Use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to rotate shifts as required and be available to work in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week when necessary.
  • Must be able to work in repetitive functions as well as other duties as required.
