Join the dynamic Revenue Accounting Operations (RAO) team and play a pivotal role in providing revenue accounting operations support for the legacy Splunk business. As a Revenue Recognition Manager, you will work cross functionally with diverse teams, including Business Entity Finance (BEF), Corporate FP&A, Acquisition Accounting Team (AAT), Invoice to Cash (I2C), Finance Transformation Office (FTO), IT, SOX and other teams who share a passion of helping make Cisco best-in-class. Your ability to foster partnerships and collaborate efficiently will be key to your success in this role.

Your Impact

We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Revenue Recognition Manager who is team oriented to join our RAO team. The person will play an integral role in the team's accounting for multi-million dollar sales deals in RevPro. This position reports to the Leader, Controller of Revenue Accounting Operations. Responsibilities include:

  • Month end and quarter end close activities including preparation of journal entries, flux analysis, commentary, account reconciliations of revenue related items (revenue, deferred, revenue, contract assets, RPO, etc).
  • Partner cross functionally with BEF, FP&A, AAT, I2C, SOX to ensure that all revenue impacting activities are appropriately accounted for.
  • Ensure that processes are in compliance with SOX and US GAAP, and support internal and external audits
  • Drive and influence cross functional operational improvements, proactively recommend efficiency and effectiveness improvements
  • Opportunity to work on projects outside of the Splunk's business
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, MBA or equivalent
  • 8 years+ of Finance/Accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition (ASC606) and its application to SaaS
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Powerpoint
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and ability to build relationships and collaborate at various levels
  • A self-starter who works independently with minimum supervision to resolve issues
  • Experience in RevPro, SAP
  • Big 4 accounting experience, knowledge of SQL and PowerBI a plus
  • Highly adaptable to changes in the business, ensuring that key risks areas are covered
