Postdoctoral Fellow in Metabolism and Cancer Description:We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic Ph.D. or MD scientists to join our group as postdoctoral research fellows. Position Description: The Sen Lab invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellow position in cancer metabolism. Our research aims to define metabolic vulnerabilities in lung cancer and their impact on tumor progression and therapy resistance. This position is supported by a newly funded NIH grant. The candidate will apply state-of-the-art metabolic profiling techniques, including mass spectrometry-based metabolomics, isotope tracing, and lipidomics, to dissect metabolic rewiring in lung cancer. The research will integrate patient-derived models, organoids, and in vivo tumor models. Lab Focus: The Sen Lab focuses on the development of new treatment paradigms for clinically relevant molecular subsets of lung cancer, the leading cause of cancer mortality. Situated Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, the Sen Lab takes an interdisciplinary approach to studying basic mechanisms and biological principles of tumor pathogenesis with a focus on lung cancer. We aim to elucidate the fundamental principles of cancer initiation, progression, and therapeutic response and resistance and to translate these findings to improve patient outcomes. The overall goal of this research programspanning basic mechanistic discoveries, application of high-throughput technologies, validation in cancer-relevant mouse models, and translation platformsis to understand the fundamental principles driving tumor progression, including both cancer cell-intrinsic signaling and contributions from the tumor microenvironment, to improve therapy and survival outcomes in lung cancer patients. Qualifications:
The Ohio State University is a dynamic community of diverse resources, where opportunity thrives and where individuals transform themselves and the world. The Ohio State University is one of the nations largest and most comprehensive public universities and a top employer in Ohio. As one of only 57 designated comprehensive cancer centers in the nation, The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute is dedicated to the creation of knowledge in laboratory, clinical and population-based cancer research. We apply those discoveries to develop more effective approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis, and therapies providing tomorrows standard of care today. A Cancer-Free World Begins Here. The OSUCCC James is the only cancer program in the United States that features a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center aligned with a nationally ranked academic medical center and a freestanding cancer hospital on the campus of one of the nations largest public universities. is the only cancer program in the United States that features a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center aligned with a nationally ranked academic medical center and a freestanding cancer hospital on the campus of one of the nations largest public universities. |
