Description

As our Transmission Planning Engineer Co-op, you'll contribute to the Economic and Policy Planning team by analyzing historical grid and market data to support long-term transmission investment strategies. Your work helps MISO identify and justify infrastructure improvements that ensure the grid remains reliable and efficient for millions.

You'll gain hands-on experience with:
- Tools like PSSE, TARA (PowerGEM), and market congestion datasets
- Automating data analysis and building dashboards with Power BI and Python
- Supporting strategic planning and interregional transmission studies

A great day in this role means compiling and analyzing data from multiple sources, sharing insights with other teams, and seeing how your analysis influences key decisions. You'll know you're making an impact when your work helps guide long-term investments in the electric grid.

- Coursework in power systems, economics, or transmission planning
