Physician Affiliate Group of New York, P.C., (PAGNY) is seeking a PsychiatryMedical Director to join the team at NYC Health + Hospitals.Virtual ExpressCare (vEC) is a 24/7 telehealth service that offers a simple and easy way for our patients to access high-quality and affordable virtual urgent care services. The ability to meet patients where they are, will allow NYC Health + Hospitals to deliver safe, competent care outside of the four walls of hospitals and health centers. Available through the website (ExpressCare.nyc) or through phone, vEC fills in a critical patient care need.

Opportunity Details:

We're looking for a dynamic clinical leader to join our team and help shape the future of virtual care at NYC Health + Hospitals.

In this role, you'll report directly to the vEC Executive Director with professional reporting to Chief of Behavioral Health Services to support our mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centered virtual care. You'll have the chance to provide direct care, mentor staff, and guide clinical quality and innovation across the service.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide patient care during at least 2 clinical sessions per week.
  • Help set and maintain high clinical standards, including integrating best practices into how we care for patients.
  • Collaborate with leadership on key strategies to improve care quality and team performance.
  • Guide and support clinical staff, including advanced practice providers (APPs), and assist with complex cases.
  • Support staff readiness for regulatory surveys and ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Evaluate and coach clinical providers, and help build systems for feedback, growth, and teamwork.
  • Contribute to a strong team culture by building trust and communication between providers and leadership.
  • Manage the monthly clinical schedule with administrative support.
  • Join weekly leadership meetings to help steer service growth and quality.
  • Help resolve patient and provider concerns as they arise.

You'll Also Help With:

  • Quality and population health analytics to support risk-based and value-based care models.
  • Tracking clinical outcomes and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Designing strategies to attract, retain, and grow our clinical team.
  • Supporting the development of career pathways for clinician leaders.
  • Collaborating with system-wide leadership and community partners to strengthen our impact.
Qualifications
  • Medical Doctorate (MD or DO) with Board Certification in Psychiatry.
  • Possess a New York State License to practice medicine in the State of New York, as well as current DEA, BCLS and ACLS certification and Infection Control Certification.
  • Familiarity with pediatric and adolescent psychiatry preferred.
  • Experience providing urgent or crisis behavioral health care, including through telepsychiatry platforms preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in clinical or administrative roles, preferably in fast-paced or urgent care behavioral health settings.
  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare operations, including regulatory standards, quality assurance, performance improvement, and behavioral health integration within medical settings.
  • Leadership experience is preferred.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $291,000* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $320,100** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution.

  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
