Job Description: Staff Research Associate The Role: Entegris is currently seeking a Staff Research Associate to join our Research and Development team in Fremont, California. The Staff Research Associate will provide laboratory support and assist in the development and commercialization of commercially viable products for chemical-mechanical planarization (CMP) applications at Entegris. This role will be responsible for performing lab-based polishing experiments, pilot plant experiments, product reliability tests, formulation experiments, fundamental wet-chemistry or instrument studies, data collection/summarization/analysis, and maintenance of the laboratory. What You'll Do:
- Table-top polishing experiments assessing reproducibility, recipe/methodology development, and wafer metrology.
- Participate in running laboratory tests for characterizing CMP slurries and predicting performance.
- Execute experiments to both support new slurry screening process and be able to work (grow) to understand mechanistic aspects of slurry behavior such as colloidal stability, shelf stability, and pot-life stability.
- Perform preliminary interpretation of data, recognizing and correcting test abnormalities and communicating results to team.
- Prepare requested slurry samples and coordinate with the pilot plant for production of slurries used in polishing experiments.
- Maintain and control inventory of chemicals for the production of experimental products.
- Coordinate with colleagues in the maintenance and upkeep of laboratory tools and instruments.
- Any other duties as assigned.
What We Seek:
- BS/BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering or Engineering Science OR
- Associate's degree in chemistry, Material Science, or Engineering Technology with additional relevant industry experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with wet-chemistry and instrumentation used in chemistry laboratories.
- Demonstrated ability to plan experiments, basic analysis experimental data using statistical techniques to help find solutions problems.
- Skilled in a broad scope of instrument instrumentation to be used in a wet lab environment to measure particles, slurries, and chemical compositions.
- Communicates effectively, often, and in a candid and professional manner.
- Flexible, highly creative, innovative, and committed to continuous learning
- JMP software experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Windows and associated software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

- A base salary in the $75,000 - $82,000 range with actual pay dependent on the candidate's overall skills for the role.
