Through leading innovations, we help farmers around the world meet the challenge of feeding a growing population and taking care of our planet. To support that challenge, Syngenta Seeds R&D team is currently seeking a Data Governance Analyst in Durham, NC.

This role will establish and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and availability within Seeds R&D.

Accountabilities

  • Create and maintain a culture of Data Governance by partnering with functional data owners to promote best practices, standards, principles, and policies.
  • Facilitate and promote the usage and adoption of data governance tools, processes, and procedures among functional business users.
  • Monitor data quality metrics to understand the health of data and impacts on business results.
  • Lead the resolution of data quality issues discovered by data quality reporting.
  • Develop and deploy active/passive data governance initiatives to identify and resolve data inaccuracies, inconsistencies, or redundancies.
  • Implement day-to-day needs of the data governance and data quality program.
  • Recommend and implement policies and procedures for data governance approved by the Data Governance council and team.
  • Identify data quality opportunities and drive compliance with data governance and quality initiatives.
  • Ensure data governance opportunities are identified and addressed throughout the project life cycle.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Date Governance or related field
  • A minimum of a 4-year degree in one or multiple of the following: life sciences, computer science, data management, data governance, data science.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship support from Syngenta.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Data Catalog tools like Collibra or Alation.
  • Ability to establish and implement data governance frameworks.
  • Ability to conduct requirement gathering sessions.
  • Ability to perform data analysis using SQL, Python, or R.
  • Data Catalog/Data Analysis knowledge.
