What You'll Do



  • Lead and manage the organization's finance department, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, planning, and analysis.
  • Oversee budgeting processes, month-end closing, cash flow management, and financial forecasting.
  • Manage annual audits, 990 preparation, and tax filings; ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit regulations.
  • Implement and oversee systems for contract compliance, financial reporting, and risk management.
  • Provide oversight for payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger systems.
  • Lead financial planning and support for the agency's social enterprise portfolio.
  • Review all proposed contracts and assess compliance capacity and risk exposure.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to insurance carriers and lead the agency's risk management efforts.
  • Partner with HR, IT, and Program leadership to ensure systems are scalable, equitable, and aligned with agency strategy.
  • Support and train staff on finance-related procedures and tools.
  • Represent Finance in Executive Leadership meetings and lead the Board Finance Committee.
  • Promote a strength-based and equity-centered culture across all finance and compliance practices.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 3 years in a nonprofit setting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit fund accounting, and financial systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with audits, budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams while managing complex systems and priorities.
  • Familiarity with tools such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Rippling, Concur, and Microsoft Excel.
