Your Impact You will undertake conflict of interest (COI) checks on new engagements submitted across the global firm, with a particular focus on the U.S. Healthcare sector. This team plays a crucial role in advising firm leadership on managing conflicts of interest throughout the client engagement lifecycle, including client selection and work scope management. The mission of the ethics and compliance (E&C) function is to protect our firm while enabling impact by supporting colleagues to lead with integrity. In this role, you will carry out conflict of interest checks in the firm's conflicts database on clients and any involved parties identified on each new engagement. You will perform research on entities using both internal and external sources, with a focus on the unique regulatory and competitive landscape of the U.S. Healthcare sector. Your responsibilities will include identifying, clearing, and, where appropriate, elevating conflicts issues, along with providing recommendations on how to address them. The individual will lead conflicts of interest discussions and provide guidance to partners in the U.S. on managing potential conflicts in client engagements, ensuring compliance with firm policies and the complex regulatory requirements of the U.S. Healthcare sector. Additionally, the role includes developing briefing materials and coordinating discussions with client service risk, legal, and other firm function colleagues on engagements. In addition to your core responsibilities, you will contribute to raising awareness of E&C policies and processes, particularly as they pertain to the U.S. Healthcare sector. You will also engage in global initiatives, such as policy reviews, as part of our global E&C function. This role requires a deep understanding of the U.S. Healthcare sector, including its regulatory environment, competitive dynamics, and client sensitivities. Your qualifications and skills Undergraduate degree; advanced degree (JD, MBA or equivalent) preferred 3+ years of professional experience on complex problems related to business risk Demonstrate intellectual curiosity through professional training or professional impact Experience or strong interest in due diligence, risk management and compliance Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize them, and carry them out independently while being mindful of the big picture Capable of raising issues, generating solutions, and working effectively under pressure Sensitivity with confidential information and adherence to the highest professional and process standards Strong influencing capabilities, including willingness to push back and deliver tough messages to senior audiences, and demonstrated track record of leadership in high-performing teams Willingness to travel or work in-person on occasion; ability to work across several time zones, as needed Prior experience of conflicts of interest analysis and systems within accounting, financial services or legal sectors highly advantageous Ability to engage audience and create clear, logical, and structured communications across all formats, with fluent English proficiency Please review the additional requirements regarding essential job functions of McKinsey colleagues.
