You'll help developers get hands-on with projects like Apache Iceberg, Apache Polaris (incubating), Apache NiFi, Modin, PostgreSQL, and Streamlit, and bring valuable product feedback and community insights back to our teams.

Your impact will be measured by increased visibility of Snowflake's open source initiatives, stronger ties with external projects and foundations, and growing the community of contributors and users who are empowered to build with Snowflake and open source side by side.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as the Developer Relations representative in the Snowflake OSPO

    • Collaborate with Snowflake's engineering, legal, and security teams to ensure our contributions and projects are well-managed, compliant, and sustainable

    • Define and own metrics to measure the success of our OSPO initiatives

    • Assess Snowflake's support of existing open source projects, identify where more or less support is needed, and advocate for new projects

  • Represent Snowflake in key open source foundations (e.g., Apache Software Foundation, Linux Foundation, CNCF, Jupyter Foundation, NumFOCUS)

  • Create and maintain developer-friendly data engineering resources, such as open source demos and software tools, code samples, documentation, how-to guides, and tutorials

  • Engage OSS communities across GitHub, Discourse, Reddit, X and LinkedIn to gather feedback, foster collaboration, and channel insights into impactful programs and resources around Snowflake projects such as Streamlit, Iceberg, Python, Postgres, Polaris

  • Travel to speak at open source and developer-focused conferences and represent Snowflake in the broader data and OSS ecosystems

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior experience working with open source foundations a requirement (e.g., Apache Software Foundation, Linux Foundation, CNCF, Jupyter Foundation, NumFOCUS)

  • Hands-on experience with open source projects and technologies such as Apache Iceberg, Apache Polaris (incubating), Apache NiFi, Modin, PostgreSQL, and Streamlit; comfortable writing code sample projects, demos, or tutorials in Python and SQL at minimum

  • A background in developer relations, technical writing, software engineering or related role

  • Deep relationship within the open source community and ecosystem

  • Experience working within cross-functional teams (product management, marketing, product engineering, support, customer success, etc).

  • Knowledge of Snowflake technology focus areas such as Data Engineering, Gen AI, Data Science, Machine Learning is a plus
