Job Summary

Under the direction of the HTUS Purchasing Supervisor, the Procurement Lead is responsible for providing monitoring, support, & direction to the procurement teams.

The Procurement Lead will be responsible for providing monitoring, support, & direction to the procurement teams with a focus on continued improvement. The position will report directly to the Purchasing Manager. The position will support overall procurement activities through a focus on supplier management, analysis of metrics, supporting departmental needs, & engaging in initiatives linked to achieving the business objectives of the procurement function.

Essential Functions:



  • Provide support & leadership to procurement team to ensure effective procurement operations across North America
  • Support development & execution of procurement strategies that align with company goals related to cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory management
  • Maintain departmental metrics & assist the Purchasing Manager in the execution of applicable action plans to drive execution & achievement of designated goals/objectives
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, quality, and supply chain management, to support new product development, production schedules, and overall operational needs.
  • Evaluate vendor performance based on key metrics such as on-time delivery, cost savings, and quality; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage supplier risk by ensuring a diverse and reliable supplier base, developing contingency plans, and monitoring market trends.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance P2P & procurement processes, reduce lead times, and optimize inventory levels.
  • Work with ERP and MRP systems to manage purchase orders, monitor inventory, and track supplier performance.
  • Report regularly to senior leadership on procurement metrics, including supplier performance, cost savings, and procurement initiatives.

What You'll Bring



  • Associates degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Experience in industrial goods or manufacturing industries is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to manage supplier relationships.
  • Expertise in procurement systems, including MRP and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively manage and develop procurement teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
