The Stockroom Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the Stockroom, ensuring inventory management, maintaining a positive team environment, and supporting the Stockroom Supervisor in executing operational goals. This role requires a hands-on leader who is adept at receiving inbound materials, picking, kitting, issuing materials, conducting cycle counts, and managing bin audits. The Stockroom Lead will be responsible for ensuring proper support to Production operations while adhering to Company and Stockroom policies.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead, motivate, and support a team of Stockroom employees, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Provide daily direction, assign tasks, and ensure the team is aligned with priorities and goals.
  • Lead by example in maintaining professionalism, attitude, and strong work ethic.

Inventory Management & Accuracy:

  • Oversee accurate tracking, organization, and storage of inventory, ensuring consistency in Stockroom procedures.
  • Manage cycle counts and conduct bin audits to ensure inventory accuracy, including resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Oversee the picking, kitting, and issuing of materials to ensure timely and accurate material fulfillment.
  • Ensure proper labeling, placement, and handling of materials to optimize Stockroom space and workflow.

Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency:

  • Collaborate with the Stockroom Supervisor to implement and refine Stockroom processes, focusing on continuous improvement, efficiency, and lean practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and help the team adopt best practices to reduce errors and increase efficiency.

Other Duties as Assigned: Perform other tasks as directed by the Stockroom Lead and/or Supervisor tosupport operations.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 5+ years of experience working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment with at least 1 year in leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team, fostering a positive work culture.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and leadership.
  • Proven experience in leading material handling processes and managing material handling tasks.
  • Experience in inventory transactions and SAP/ERP/WMS.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate math and computer skills to perform computer related transactions.
  • Forklift certification (stand-up and sit-down preferred).
  • Ability to read, write and understand English.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree or Logistics/Supply Chain-related certification preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must lift and/or move up to 40 pounds alone, 70 lbs. with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
