TerrAscend is actively seeking a Full Time Weekend Cultivation Supervisor with an extensive background in greenhouse management, horticultural or related fields. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our cultivation team, ensuring the successful growth and care of our cannabis plants. The weekend cultivation supervisor will oversee and coordinate a variety of essential tasks, focusing on weekend shift operations but extending into the week, making a significant impact on our production processes.
Where you'll be planted
This position will be on-site at our Hagerstown, MD facility. This position will require working weekends and weekdays.

Environmental Factors:
    • This position requires working in an environment that has a high amount of plant matter and pollen. Areas of the facility reach high/low temperatures with high humidity levels. Employees may have exposure to conditions such as dust, plant matter, and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or skin, depending on department job assignments. Employees are required to wear protective gear and have the option to wear eye and ear protection. Certain areas of the facility use harsh chemicals for cleaning such as bleach and can have repetitive movements. Employees should be comfortable and capable of working under all of the above conditions.
Physical Requirements:
    • Able to push, pull, lift, or move a minimum of 50lbs
    • Capable of sitting, standing kneeling, bending, squatting, and/or walking for extended periods of time
    • Capable of using hands and fingers to touch, handle, feel and pick
    • Ability to work with hazardous chemicals (butane, propane, etc.) following strict safety guidelines
    • Utilize chemicals (such as bleach) to clean and maintain facility/equipment
    • Must wear PPE (clothing protection), close-toed non-slip shoes, and optional ear/eye protection
To be blunt, this role will be about:
    • Weekend shift management: take the lead on weekend shift work, responsible for a range of activities, including feeding mother stock, propagation, and veg. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the health and development of our plants.
    • Weekday management: In addition to your weekend responsibilities, this role will extend into weekday management, where you will play a key role in assisting with scheduling feeds within our indoor and/or greenhouse facilities. This includes overseeing and adjusting plant scheduled feedings, with dedicated time for making any necessary adjustments and reporting back to cultivation manager. Your active involvement throughout the week ensures that our cultivation processes run smoothly and efficiently across all areas of operation.
    • Optimizing Flower schedules: Managing Flower schedules is essential for maximizing yield and product quality. Your expertise will be crucial in adjusting for both indoor and/or greenhouse base from our moisture content reading platforms.
    • Supervision and crisis management: As a weekend cultivation supervisor, you'll be responsible for supervising the cultivation crew and technicians during weekend shifts. Should any issues or emergencies arise, you will act promptly and effectively to the cultivation manager.
    • Schedule Management: Managing the Saturday to Wednesday schedule efficiently is a core aspect of the role. You'll be tasked with ensuring the team adheres to the schedule and that all tasks are completed within the designated timeframes.
    • Irrigation Feedings: In addition to your weekend responsibilities, you'll handle irrigation feedings for other Greenhouse and/or Indoor areas during weekdays (8am-4:30pm) Your attention to detail and knowledge of cultivation process will be key in this aspect of the role.
    • Nutrient Mixing: You will be tasked with monitoring nutrient levels and preparing mixes as necessary, utilizing groan software to obtain moisture content readings. This process is essential to our plants receiving the scheduled events in accordance with our SOP and Guidelines.
    • Dry Room: Dry room operations, delegating tasks to your team, and inspecting equipment to make sure everything functions. This includes taking and receiving moisture content readings, and if necessary, notifying Cultivation Manager about adjusting to the dry room to maintain optimal conditions. These tasks are crucial in upholding the quality and integrity of our cultivation processes.
    • New Hire Training- You will be responsible for specific new hire training in essential areas, ensuring that our team members are well-versed in all aspects of our cultivation processes. This includes comprehensive training in cloning, mother maintenance, transplanting and flower pruning. It's imperative that you oversee the new employee's understanding of all standard operating procedures in these areas before the necessary sign- off on their training. Your commitment to thoroughly train employees will contribute to the success of our team and the quality of our cannabis cultivation practices.
    • Other duties as assigned by Management.
To be successful in this role we know you'll need:
    • Must be 21 years of age or older
    • 4-year degree, helpful but not required
    • Two years of experience in greenhouse/ indoor cultivation, arboriculture, horticulture, or related field.
    • Exceptional multi-tasking skills
    • High energy level required
    • Strong leadership, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential
    • Ability to be flexible with work schedule to meet the business needs including holidays and weekends required.
    • Knowledge of Cannabis products a plus, but not required
    • Prior leadership experience

$50,000 - $55,000 a year
