Starting pay rate: $60,600.00 Job Purpose:
Oversee the training and supervising of employees, monitor department's compliance with operational policies, and keeping up-to-date with the progress of administrative duties. Planning and executing departmental budgets.
This job contributes to organizational success by:
- Line management of the Group Leaders who ensure the delivery of the daily workload, offering coaching, support and guidance as required to ensure all team members can perform at their best
- Overseeing the routine review of orders to enable effective planning of workload and target resources accordingly
- Systematic analysis of stock targets ensuring stock levels are aligned to relevant sales and PEI Targets
- Ensuring that the duties are carried out and that all procedures are conducted in compliance with the Regulatory requirements
- Ensuring consistent compliance within their teams with regard to biosecurity, animal welfare, work instructions, policy and procedures
- Working alongside senior management, project management and customer service to liaise with customers as required with regard to tenders, proposals or complex/challenging orders
- Providing technical expertise to support other areas of the business and to provide support to customer projects as required
- Supporting Group Leaders with employee relations issues around attendance, performance or conduct; working alongside senior management and Human Resources as required
- Ensuring that animals and samples shipped to clients are in accordance with client specifications and to Company standards
- Ensuring that operational areas and equipment are routinely monitored and that repairs are arranged and completed in conjunction with the Facilities team
- Driving training plans for colleagues to ensure that training needs are identified, addressed and verified, offering development opportunities to support retention and employee engagement
- Providing a working environment that is in accordance with the Company's health and safety policies
- Having an overview of resource levels throughout the year, carefully managing annual leave and time off and ensuring that staffing levels are appropriate
- Recruiting new team members from business case to onboarding including interview and selection
- Being actively involved in customer audits
- Supporting and implementing procedures necessary for compliance with Inotiv's various initiatives
- Ensuring the maintenance of Vet Health records
- Ensuring that those adequate accurate records of breeding history and performance are maintained on the Colony Management Program and that the correct replacement breeding systems are implemented
- Deputizing for senior management as requested
- To undertake other reasonable duties as requested by management
- Adhere to all regulations, policies, guidelines, and procedure principles for utilization
- Perform miscellaneous duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- AALAC certification a plus
- 1-3 years of leadership experience
- 1-3 years' experience in Animal Care
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint) with willingness and ability to learn company-specific systems and software
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and to operate with the highest of ethical standards, discretion, and professionalism
- Ability to effectively prioritize and complete multiple tasks and demands
- Lift up to 50lbs on occasion
- Stand/walk on concrete for at least 2 hours at a time
- Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, squat and lift
