Job Title: VP & Quality Control ("QC") Officer
Department: BSA Department (HQ Office)

We are looking for a VP & Quality Control ("QC") Officer to join our BSA department team. The Quality Control Officer is responsible for ensuring that the BSA department and OFAC related activities/programs adequately maintain quality standards defined by Open Bank for various programs and processes. A candidate who is bilingual in English & Korean is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the Bank's policies and procedures related to the BSA/OFAC rules and their application within the BSA/OFAC Department.
  • Implements, performs, and documents assigned control reviews; performs and conducts testing based on detailed procedures and processes. Identifies issues, exceptions, and patterns, escalates to management for resolution, and formally documents findings.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of processes to ensure that appropriate risk factors were addressed by BSA/OFAC senior management.
  • Prepare detailed work papers to support findings and provide clear and concise statements/explanations regarding findings.
  • Ensure all BSA/OFAC-related issues are remediated accurately and promptly
  • Participate in internal audits and regulatory exams, including interfacing with auditors and examiners to provide information, documentation, and support as needed.
  • Monitor the issues remediation process to ensure that action plans are executed promptly and adequately.
  • Engage in training event developments to further enhance the staff's understanding of current BSA/AML/CFT/OFAC events and/or weaknesses detected within the department.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Ability to analyze and organize financial information and perform complex financial calculations.
  • General knowledge of lending regulations, lien laws, and loan documentation.
  • Ability to work with co-workers, clients, and outside agencies professionally and tactfully.

  • Good written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
  • Bilingual in English & Korean Is preferred.
