Finance Associate

The University of Virginia's Department of Facilities Management has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Associate.Typical responsibilities include reviewing, monitoring, and analyzing accounts in the University's financial, project management, and work order systems, reconciling transactions between the systems, and reporting on the results. The incumbent will possess critical thinking and customer service skills, the ability to perform data analysis, work with team members to troubleshoot transaction issues, and provide recommendations for workflow and process improvements.

This position is located in Charlottesville, VA and is not eligible for sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze funds, projects, programs, and expense categories to ensure appropriate entries are made and monitor the account balances.

• Perform necessary corrections and adjustments in the financial system.

• Maintain financial records for department funds, following University and departmental policies and procedures, and maintain all documentation and records to comply with audit requirements.

• Provide reports and analysis in support of administrative and operating activities.

• Attend standing meetings and training sessions as needed to keep apprised of changes in policy and procedures.

• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft office applications, or equivalent.

Compensation:

The Anticipated Hiring range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000. This is a full-time position with UVA benefits. Employee benefits package highlights include:
