Research Associate I - Macosko Lab

Broad Institute
United States, Massachusetts, Cambridge
Jun 12, 2025

Description & Requirements

The Macosko Lab is an integral part of the Broad's new Parkinson's Disease Initiative and working collaboratively with other Broad labs and our industry partner. Being a member of our team will provide the opportunity for your contributions to be utilized and recognized across a large and vibrant community of researchers with close links to MIT, Harvard and the Harvard-affiliated hospitals across Boston in the fields of genomics and neurodegenerative disease research.

The Macosko Lab, at the Broad Institute, is looking for a highly self-motivated individual with strong experience in molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques. This role will support efforts to deliver high-resolution gene expression measurements from intact brain tissue for the lab's Parkinson's Disease (PD) research aims. Our lab has developed various genomic technologies, including our spatial transcriptomics technology called Slide-tags, that enable the application of cutting-edge science on rare and precious human brain specimens. The candidate will be expected to learn these various techniques and protocols and apply to PD-related research aims.

Experience with basic techniques in molecular biology is required; some prior exposure to next-generation sequencing techniques, basic fluorescence microscopy, and cell culture are preferred. Prior laboratory experience is a pre-requisite.
