Responsibilities

As a Fiber Splicer, you are responsible to produce end-to-end fiber optic networks. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge.

In addition, you will:

  • Test and troubleshoot continuity of fiber optic networks.
  • Operate all testing equipment and be adept at resolving challenges common to fiber optic networks.
  • Prepare fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, Commscope, Corning etc.
  • Utilize fusion splicer, test equipment OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Refelctometer) 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, Power meter.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Train and mentor new team members.
  • Track time and job completion progress.
  • Keep the job site organized and ensure proper restoration at project completion.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications

About You:

  • Safety is second nature to you.
  • You consistently produce high-quality work.
  • You enjoy solving complex problems and taking a hands-on approach.
  • You thrive in long-term projects and fast-paced environments.
  • You lead by example and enjoy coaching others.
  • You are comfortable working outdoors and in varied conditions.
  • You're experienced in telecom construction.
  • You have 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience.
  • You have knowledge of fiber engineering and design, reading documentation, light levels and dB loss.
  • You hold the necessary certifications such as OSHA 10, CPR, flagging.
  • You can lift up to 70lbs. and work at heights using a ladder or bucket truck.
  • You're available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if needed.

Compensation: Production average $75,000 - $100,000/yr
