Overview

To provide high quality technical assistance with exercise and non-exercise stress testing, complete application of Holter and Event monitoring, Holter scanning and handle other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Performs technical assistance in completing exercise and non-exercise stress tests, along with identifying EKG abnormalities and/or arrhythmias.

  • Correlate clinical history with exam to be performed and consults with physician as necessary.
  • Accurate interpretation and clarification of physician's orders.
  • Applies holter and event monitors.
  • Scans holter monitors and prepares the report for the physician to review.
  • Follows the logical order of events in each procedure to anticipate sudden changes in patient condition.
  • Completes patient log, requisitions, billing information and other paperwork as required.
  • Correctly charges procedure.
  • Proficiency in performing venipuncture.
  • Proficiency in recognizing lethal arrhythmias.
  • Knowledge of specific medications that are given by the Tech under physician supervision during the procedure.
  • Ability to operate stress and holter equipment, including the function of all controls affecting the quality of data displayed.
  • Works proficiently with computers and software driven testing machines.
  • Maintains equipment quality.
  • Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot and report equipment failure
  • Performs stress tests (pharmacological, function, and cardiolite)


Identifies and participates in quality improvement projects.

  • Maintains current knowledge about equipment.
  • Capable of reasonable troubleshooting
  • Correctly calibrates equipment on a daily basis and as needed.
  • Updates knowledge as equipment changes are made
  • Stores equipment correctly
  • Checks and observes equipment for general safety.
  • Ability to recognize electrical interference and how to avoid its occurrence
  • Recorders and all patient cables are maintained in excellent working condition
  • Performs QI checks on the equipment
  • Seeks out PI projects that will benefit quality patient care
  • Participates in Cardiology Division PI projects
  • Demonstrates a practical problem solving approach to patient moving and handling issues.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $18.46per hour - $29.91per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
