As Manager, Pet Services Analytics at Petco, you would play a critical leadership role in driving the financial performance and strategic direction Pet Services, Responsibilities include overseeing the preparation of monthly targets, leading reporting managing the monthly close process, and providing regular and ad hoc analyses for the Petco Services organization.

This role will collaborate closely with key members across multiple teams to develop strategic solutions for unique business challenges, while leading and mentoring a team. The Manager, Pet Services Analytics will take ownership of financial reporting, advanced modeling, and evaluation to keep the Pet Services business on track to meet its financial goals. This is a perfect opportunity for an individual who is detail-oriented, technically capable, holds a desire to solve problems and efficiently delivers a quality work product in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This position will report to the Director, Vet Services Finance & Operations

Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic partnerships with the Finance, Accounting, Business, Field, and Senior Leadership teams to provide financial planning and analysis support to ensure alignment with business and financial targets.
  • Oversee the retrieval, synthesis, and presentation of critical data for leadership decision-making, using insights to drive business strategy and operational improvements.
  • Manage the development and optimization of analytical methodologies, including data sources to support forecasting and financial modeling.
  • Direct the end-to end development of business reporting in partnership with data engineering.
  • Set priorities and guide data engineering partners in building analytic capabilities, platforms, and pipelines ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Own the financial reporting cycle, including monthly targeting annual budgeting, and all ad hoc financial analysis for the Pet Services business.
  • Partner with the Accounting team to oversee P&L management and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Lead and mentor a team, providing strategic direction, support, and performance management to ensure professional growth and development.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • 5-7 years relevant experience operating in highly analytical FP&A or business finance roles
  • 2 years of people management experience preferred, though not required

Required Skills:

  • Highly analytical and skilled in building advanced spreadsheet models
  • Proficient in accounting
  • Passion to continuously provide exceptional customer service to all internal business partners
  • Data-driven decision-maker with high degree of competence in analyzing data
  • Demonstrated expertise in leveraging financial systems to empower an organization to efficiently plan and monitor financial performance
  • Self-starter and ability to manage projects independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for innovation and using technology to drive efficiency
  • Track record of successful cross-functional communication and project management
  • Very detail oriented, with strong organization skills with the ability to maintain and keep track of multiple information sources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including strong Excel and PowerPoint skills).

The pay ranges outlined below are presented in accordance with state-specific regulations. These ranges may differ in other areas and could be subject to variation based on regulatory minimum wage requirements. Actual pay rates will depend on factors such as position, location, level of experience, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws. If the regulatory minimum wage exceeds the minimum indicated in the pay range below, the regulatory minimum wage will be the minimum rate applied.
