About the Job

Work Arrangement:
* The position is expected to work primarily on-site. Your work location will be in Wallin Biomedical Biosciences.

Required Qualifications:
* PhD in in a science related field with one year of research experience
* Extensive experience in cellular and molecular immunology, including in vivo and in vitro models
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations
* Advanced expertise in mouse colony management, including design and implementation of murine experiments
* Strong background in flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, proliferation assays, cell cycle analysis, cytotoxicity assays, and antigen cross-presentation studies
* Proficient in molecular biology techniques including CRISPR-Cas9, qPCR, DNA methylation, and Western blotting
* Skilled in computational tools including GraphPad Prism, FlowJo and MS Office Suite
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively in a collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications:
* PhD in Immunology
* Demonstrated record of research productivity in high-impact immunology journals
* Experience mentoring students and contributing to collaborative team science initiatives

Job description:
The primary responsibility of this position is to lead and advance research focused on immune responses to cell death through integration of immunology, molecular biology, and in vivo models. Responsibilities entail the design, implementation, evaluation, and analysis of research studies involving cellular immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and mouse genetics to elucidate mechanisms that regulate immune responses to cell death. These duties are accomplished through (1) planning and executing complex laboratory research studies; (2) analyzing, interpreting, and reporting scientific data in local and national scientific meetings and peer-reviewed publication; (3) submission and maintenance of animal, human and safety protocols; (4) preparation of progress reports.

Responsibilities:
80% Laboratory-based research:
* Independently designs, plans, and executes multifaceted experimental strategies to investigate immunological mechanisms of cell death response
* Applies state-of-the-art cellular and molecular techniques to decode immune signaling pathways, epigenetic regulation, and antigen presentation
* Stays abreast of emerging scientific and technological advances and integrates them into experimental design
* Maintains accurate and detailed electronic laboratory records; prepares high-quality figures and methods for scientific publications

10% Mouse colony maintenance
* Independently manages mouse lines, including breeding strategies and experimental coordination to support ongoing studies

5% Writing and editing
* Contributes to preparation of scientific manuscripts.
* Assists in drafting proposals to procure research funding.

5% Laboratory support
* Mentor undergraduate students and be a resource for technicians and graduate students.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $76,000 - 91,165.00 annually, depending on education/qualifications/experience
