The opportunity

The Video and Creative Communications Specialist supports the Office of External Affairs and Communications (OEAC) team to promote the mission of the university through video storytelling. Supporting the Campus and Athletic Communications teams, you will produce and edit video content for internal and external SNHU channels and supports streaming service for Athletics and university events. You will report directly to the Assistant Director of Creative Communications. #LI-Onsite

What you'll do:

  • Content development

    • Lead video production to support campus and athletic communications and drive student engagement. Lead and manage the production process of multiple projects including concept development, storyboards, shooting, and editing a range of video projects. Video content will cover campus events, experiential learning opportunities, athletic games and promotion. Other content development could include video captions and visual media design.

    • Ensure all video and digital content is consistent with university branding and messaging.

    • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies and provide guidance and feedback to the team on best practices.

  • Webcasting events

    • Serve as the primary Athletic Communications contact for webcasting of home athletic events.

    • Serve as lead in technological workflow development and troubleshooting for live webcasts across all athletic home games and needs.

    • Serve as the main point of contact with FloSports/FloCollege and maintain minimum FloCollege streaming standards. Oversee student production staff, including hiring, training and scheduling. Enter webcast schedules into website of all home games. Maintain archive of past webcasts.

    • Support Creative Communications team with livestreaming internal and external events.

  • Identify content opportunities

    • Collaborate with Campus and Athletic Communications teams, the greater OEAC team, and partners across the university to identify video production needs to support team goals and university priorities. Balance multiple projects and collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment.

  • General

    • Track projects in project management tool.

    • Assist in training student workers to maintain video production quality standards across all campus and athletic related content.

What we're looking for:

  • 2+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related field. Professional work and student work experience will be considered for this position.

  • Basic understanding of rules and flow of college athletics

  • Degree(s): Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field. Experience in lieu of degree accepted.

  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, InDesign).

  • Experience filming and editing interviews and documentary-style videos using the latest camera technology and best practices.

  • Video editing and animation skills.

  • Photography skills.

  • Understanding of new media content distribution channels and experience with multimedia storytelling.

  • Knowledge of live broadcast and/or webcast production and/or creative video production.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications.

Compensation

The annual pay range for this position is $51,608.00 - $82,590.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $57,027.00 - $77,155.00.
