The Division of Student Affairs: Office of Student Involvement Job Description
The Office of Student Involvement (OSI) at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) engages students in a vibrant campus community through holistic, co-curricular experiences. Toward this aim, the OSI offers a broad menu of leadership and involvement programs and initiatives and serves as a resource to the entire campus community. Primary responsibilities for the Coordinator for Leadership and Student Organization Development include: Student Organization Advising & Outreach Leadership Development & Training Program Assessment & Continuous Improvement Systems & Technology Management Policy Development & Risk Management Collaborations & Campus Partnerships Supervision & Team Leadership Shift
Full-time, benefit eligible staff position. Willingness to work occasional hours outside of the traditional business day. Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Affairs, or related field (earned prior to start date) with 1-3 years of experience working in a university setting is preferred. (A graduate assistantship held during graduate school will be viewed as 1 year of work experience.) The Office of Student Involvement is seeking a Coordinator to support the growth and development of student organizations at UMKC. Proven experience working with student organizations, supervising and/or advising undergraduate students, strong budget management skills, and utilizing an online campus involvement management system (such as Engage, Campus Groups, Anthology, etc.) is strongly preferred.
