We are responsible for the design, configuration, operation, maintenance, and enhancement of these enterprise applications to ensure that they are reliable, accessible, and meet the needs of the business units that we support. This senior-level position, in addition to the duties listed above, will maintain effective working relationships with SMUD business units by partnering with process owners and stakeholders to develop business requirements, plan work and prepare level of effort and budget estimates. The senior-level position may also lead moderate to complex projects, provide direction to other groups involved in collaborative work assignments, provide direction to team members as team lead, act as a resource for issues that cannot be resolved by journey-level staff and will be more involved with work group planning, both strategic and tactical. Provides advanced specialized business process and technical support utilizing SMUD's various enterprise and other integrated technology solutions in the areas of design, configuration, operation, maintenance, and enhancement; serves as a key functional resource to the user community to ensure reliability, accessibility and effectively meet the needs of the business unit overall; serves in a lead role in one or more specialty areas on a regular basis. Nature and Scope: There are five (5) levels in this job classification series that have similar job content but with progressively more challenging degrees and levels of skill, responsibility, knowledge, experience and qualification requirements: Flex Classifications (that permit progression from lower-level classes to higher level classes without examination based upon assessment of an individual's experience and performance) within the series:

Entry/Intermediate to Journey: Incumbents at the entry (or intermediate) level are required to successfully "progress" to the journey level within 60 months of appointment to remain within the job series.
