Job Summary

The Financial Reporting Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. They are responsible for providing transparent information to senior leaders and other stakeholders of the institute. This role will provide specialized expertise in, but not limited to, areas such as compliance, accounting, financial reporting, and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1
Assist with and or lead periodic internal reviews of divisional or unit compliance policies and manages the internal reviews of compliance with relevant policies and Federal award regulations.

Job Duty 2
Evaluate and suggest improvements to the financial reporting processes and systems to mitigate potential risks and/or identifying current weaknesses and opportunities for improvement

Job Duty 3
Provide professional guidance and assistance in the solution of complex accounting and financial problems; lead training classes for campus users to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations

Job Duty 4
Coordinate submission of financial reporting information to external governing bodies and audit team

Job Duty 5
Review accounting and finance transactions including but not limited to Journal Entries, Custodial Funds, and Prior Year Purchase Orders to analyze and monitor compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, and regulations

Job Duty 6
Create the divisional or unit-level annual financial report and audit documentation, that may consist of areas but not limited to, affiliated organization financial reports, executive-leadership annual report, and financial performance metrics as requested by senior management for auditing

Job Duty 7
Communicate with institutions and other reporting organizations as needed

Job Duty 8
Assist with month-end and year-end close out activities as directed by senior management

Job Duty 9
Engage and lead ad hoc projects as needed

Job Duty 10
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Associate's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience
Two or more years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent.

Anticipated annual salary $55,029.00 to $78,907.00 commensurate qith qualifications
