Reports To: Dispatch Manager

Pay: $21 - $24

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by management. Assigned responsibilities and duties may vary based upon location size and operation.



  • Communicate with customers, drivers, branch managers, and coworkers.
  • Oversee drivers, safety, customer service, and product movement.
  • Handle administrative tasks and data entry.
  • Provide cheerful, professional customer service.
  • Support dispatchers with the following:

    • quote prices for customers
    • dispatch trucks as needed to obtain or deliver fuel/lubes on schedule
    • ensure drivers are following company policies and complying with all legal limits, company, state and federal


  • Supervise or perform daily truck inspections
  • Report any accident, incident or unsafe condition to supervisor immediately.
  • Treat clients and coworkers with respect and courtesy.
  • Additional duties as needed and assigned.

Requirements:



  • A minimum of 6 months of dispatch or related experience is preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent general education degree (GED) required
  • Valid Driver's license required
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office strongly preferred



Other Skills and Abilities



  • Driving or industry experience preferred; a valid CDL B is a plus
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, delivery orders and government regulations
  • Basic math skills, understand and calculate volume, weight and percentages



Work Environment:



  • Position is typically in an indoor, moderately quiet, temperature-controlled setting. Position may be asked to make some trips outside to inspect trucks, check loads, confer with drivers, visit worksites, etc.
  • May be working around moving mechanical parts, in high or precarious places, around fumes or airborne particles, and with potentially flammable chemicals.
  • Noise level will be generally moderate and occasionally loud.
  • Hours to be determined by location manager. There is an on-call component which requires 24/7 availability by phone as scheduled/necessary.
