JOB SUMMARY

UT Southwestern is seeking an experienced and skilled Design Project Coordinator; six (6) years of professional work experience minimum, for the Facilities Planning team. This position works under general direction to provide professional and technical skills for specialized construction projects. The ideal candidate will have the following skills and abilities:



  • Commercial interior design experience in providing services for workplace, education, and clinical settings,
  • Furniture assessment, installation, and space planning with end users; providing furnishing specifications and cost estimation,
  • Produce FF&E design plans and color palettes aligned to campus building standards,
  • Manage project submittals and ensure accuracy of finish materials,
  • Collaboration with campus approved vendors; coordinate vendor visits,
  • Maintain interiors resource library, and Self-Service Furniture catalog,
  • Manage daily project status reports.


Work Location: Dallas Campus (offices out of Trinity Towers); 100% onsite.

Shift Requirement: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday .

  • Education
    Bachelor's Degree Interior Design or related field.


  • Experience
    6 years of professional experience.

JOB DUTIES



  • Participates in the development, planning, and implementation of furniture fixture and equipment installation projects.
  • Manages project teams to ensure quality, schedule compliance, budget allocations.
  • Collaborates with architects, engineers, and directors regarding construction projects.
  • Maintains vendor relationships and acts as liaison between customers.
  • Responsible for maintaining the physical and online Interiors Resource Library.
  • Responsible for maintaining the physical and online Furniture Catalog.
  • Tracks and updates campus standards for finishes and furniture.
  • Responsible for coordinating finish and furniture representation meetings.
  • Meets with customers to understand their use of space and assist them in clarifying layouts and furnishing needs.
  • Advises and assist in selection of overall design, colors, materials, and accessories.
  • Provide customers with furnishing specifications and cost estimates.
  • Provide furniture planning, move and installation coordination.
  • Review submittals and provide substitutions as needed.
  • Provides AutoCad support to the Planning and Design team by compiling and organizing data into usable form.
  • Maintains campus aesthetic standards in all public and patient care areas as required by Campus Design Committee.
  • Evaluates current projects for future project requests.
  • Provides updates and implements appropriate institutional design standards.
  • Evaluates and recommends continuous improvements to policies, procedures, guidelines, methods and processes.
  • Provides support and training to lower-level Interior Design positions.
  • Consults and coordinates with architects, project managers and support groups regarding building codes, building graphics, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Joint Commission regulations and handicapped accessibility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
