Job Summary
Ensure consistent and safe plumbing practices in buildings across FHCSD, covering preventative maintenance, repairs, emergency response, and compliance with local codes.

Job Roles

• Execute plumbing tasks per schedule and report any hazards.
• Assess and isolate any plumbing problems, using signage to block off areas. Notify Facilities Director, Facilities Manager, Facilities Supervisor, and document the incident.
• Inspect leaks, clogs, and malfunctioning fixtures.
• Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems.
• Log water meter readings.
• Test emergency shut off valves.
• Clean aerators, flush drains, and inspect heaters.
• Perform video inspections and thermal scans as needed.
• Adhere to local plumbing codes and regulations.
• Dispose of replaced parts and chemical cleaners per facility/environmental guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provide the skills, knowledge and ability to perform the essential job duties, and which meets any required state or federal certification requirements.
• Traveling between sites and other locations is required as an essential function of the job. Must have a car, a valid California driver's license, and proof of minimum levels of car insurance as required under California law, although limits of $100,000 are recommended. An acceptable driving record is also required. California law requires all drivers to obtain a valid California driver's license within ten days of establishing residency. Mileage and other reimbursement governed by policy.

Experience/Specialized skills (including Language)

• Minimum 3 years of plumbing experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with plumbing systems and equipment.
• Experience in plumbing repairs and maintenance.
• Demonstrated knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations.
• Skill in the use of power tools in a safe manner.
• Ability to follow both written and oral instructions in English.
• Intermediate interpersonal and customer service skills.

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
