AD is seeking a Visuals Assistant to support the brand's expanding video programming and other platforms as needed. This position requires a creative thinker who can process a large volume of photo requests and art clearance approvals daily, can work within tight deadline constraints on multiple projects, and has a strong sense of how imagery helps drive editorial and audience engagement across platforms including video, social, digital, and print. The ideal candidate is an organized self-starter who works efficiently across editorial and production teams to create elevated visual content.

Responsibilities

  • Source visuals: Assist directors, producers, and editors to identify and obtain photos/image/art/video requests and assets for 6-7 AD videos per month along with related online, social, and print platforms. Provide photo research, hi-res procurement, and clearances/permissions for additional features on all platforms as needed.

  • Clear image use: Coordinate with creative teams, production vendors, and all necessary parties including photographers, homeowners, stock houses, agents, artists, and more to clear image and underlying copyright usage for videos used/produced by AD, working with various production companies (ie: Netflix, HBO, NBC Universal) to obtain and clear video clips and images. Compile and manage contact list of artists with work in images, to get permissions for any copyright usage as needed. Work with production management to assess and coordinate release forms and legal reviews between Conde Nast and various artists/production companies, etc. Facilitate communication with legal team regarding questions pertaining to fair use.

  • Track progress: Create tracking system to manage clearing status, and coordinate and track all assets and billing. Communicate status of each image/work of art to be cleared at each round of edits, throughout video production/post process. Ensure photo clearance due dates are met, flagging to executive team if deadlines are not possible to assess company risk associated with each image. Attend shoots as needed to compile list of images/art/sculptures/custom furniture on set.

  • Assess performance: Review KPIs with team to learn how to improve images/videos selection for future productions.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of related experience, in video and/or visuals research work

  • Familiarity with various video platforms, ie YouTube, FASTV, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Livestream

  • Knowledge of clearance process and legal implications for all video platforms a plus

  • Knowledge of interior design and fine art/artists a plus
