Description
Position Overview

This position will provide technical support for company-issued computers, peripherals (keyboard, mouse, monitor, docking station and printers), desktop software (Microsoft Office suite) and network connectivity. Tasks may include installing software, installing hardware resources for various purposes, moving equipment, and performing routine maintenance and functions.


Responsibilities

  • Assist with resolution, fulfillment, or escalation (for higher tiered support) of tickets and/or divisional projects regarding Incidents and Service Requests via ticketing system, email, chat, or walk-ins.
  • Support desktop and network hardware and technical equipment via troubleshooting, updating, replacing, and disposal, which includes PCs, printers, monitors, scanners, network devices, and other IT equipment.
  • Assist with and troubleshoot software installs, updates, and issues.
  • Assist IT Coordinator with asset management of IT inventory via ordering of new equipment, install of equipment, and decommissioning/disposal of old/EOL (End-Of-Life) equipment.
  • Onboard new IT-hardware users, including basic PC/Office365 training, desktop hardware setup and cable management, ensuring good IT Hardware practices, and hardware customization to fit employees' needs.
  • Install and/or confirm that security software is installed on all IT-hardware users' PCs and assist with basic Phishing/Cybersecurity support for Phishing email actions, Microsoft Defender scanning, and other good IT Security practices.
  • Assist with revising, maintaining, and following IT procedures and documentation, as well as training material for end-users.
  • Develop trusting, internal working relationships to support both office and plant users that interact with IT hardware and processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software and hardware equipment (i.e. Microsoft Windows operating systems, Android/iOS, desktop PC, laptop, and Cisco network/VoIP equipment).
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to adjust communication style and interact across all levels of the organization, including ability to explain IT/technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be self-driven and able to accomplish entry-level troubleshooting tasks.
  • Microsoft or other industry certifications are a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Well organized with good time management skills.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Knowledge of remote systems and servers.
  • Previous experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows.
  • Comfortable working within manufacturing environment at times.
