Overview

A Senior Cybersecurity Engineer - Incident Response supports cybersecurity application development initiatives requiring innovation, automation, and integration. Role supports the daily development and implementation of advanced capabilities for the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CIRT) and associated teams. A Senior Cybersecurity Engineer - Incident Response can initiate projects and provide direction to management on technical matters. Senior Engineer identifies what needs to be done to support and uphold the information systems security for the hospital and acts before being asked to or required by the situation. Acts as a mentor to other engineers and provides knowledge-sharing to develop and enhance team performance.

This is a remote role. However, the incumbent should live within driving distance of the main campus in KCMO.

Responsibilities

    Responsible for daily operations and works closely with Cybersecurity Analysts and supporting teams to review and implement strategies for ongoing tuning, creation, and deployment of content searches and automation processes within the SIEM, SOAR, and other cybersecurity tools needed to support the detection, analysis, and remediation of cybersecurity investigations and incidents.
  • Provides a point of escalation for Cybersecurity Engineers and Analysts. Supports teams during investigations and makes recommendations for appropriate actions to resolve issues related to the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of Children?s Mercy assets.
  • Leads meetings to explain technical and/or process solutions and the feasibility of company operations to meet department needs.
  • Works with peers and Leadership in identifying and reviewing cost-effective solutions to new and existing technical needs.
  • Continuously builds and works to maintain team and individual knowledge.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and 3-5 years' experience OR
  • High School diploma, or equivalent, and 7 or more years' experience in technical, security, cyber security, or related fields accepted in lieu of a degree.
    • GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED) Preferred
    • GIAC Continuous Monitoring (GMON) Preferred
    • GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) Preferred
    • GIAC Python Coder (GPYC) Preferred
    • GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) Preferred
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Preferred
    • GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) Preferred

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $45.83/hr, but your salaried offer will be determined based upon your education and experience.



Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is entirely remote or work from home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area or request advanced approval to work outside of the area and may attend onsite meetings, as scheduled.
