Job Summary
Under the guidance of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the incumbent will manage human resources, financial administration, and support business operations. This position provides project and administrative management to Cancer Center Administration to include ten administrative offices with nearly 200 employees.
The incumbent works directly with the Director, CAO/Associate Director for Administration, and the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for administrative operations for Cancer Center Administration. The incumbent serves as a resource and advisor on all human resource and personnel matters for the Administration team. This includes recruitment, retention and talent development initiatives, workforce development, employee engagement activities, on-boarding and other applicable personnel actions. This position is responsible for all aspects of operations management to include office planning, purchasing, information technology needs, equipment management, project management, and development of standard operating procedures and office policies. The incumbent is responsible for managing purchase orders, and invoicing for multiple funds and programs, while using UCDH policies and systems. - Bachelor's degree in business administration/economics/human resources or other related field, and/or equivalent experience/training.
- 5 years of administrative, operations and/or financial experience.
- Project management experience with organizational skills to effectively monitor and manage multiple projects or large-scale projects with multiple, overlapping deadlines and tasks.
- Experience in financial reporting in the form of written reports, informal briefings, formal presentations and summaries.
- Experience applying budgetary planning principles, policies and procedures, and familiarity with budgetary projections and analysis in a multiple-fund environment.
- Experience preparing concise reports, analyzing and compiling statistical information, and developing procedural documentation.
- Human Resources experience.
- Demonstrates good judgement and ability to think critically.
- Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills, and high level of customer service
- Professional experience and political acumen to handle sensitive or difficult situations diplomatically, to represent the organization with tact and discretion, and to work effectively and sensitively with constituents from diverse cultural backgrounds and perspectives.
- Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and making sound decisions when faced with unclear situations.
