We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Team Lead Customs Entry Processing in our Columbia, South Carolina. As a Team Lead -Customs Entry Processing you will be responsible for ensuring the completion of customs entry documentation into our computerized system for our customers. Key responsibilities:

  • Assist team members with escalations related to customs entries.
  • Enter new customer orders into the DHL computerized system to facilitate cargo release.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and upload of all relevant information.
  • Complete document auto-upload processes as required in the DHL computerized system.
  • Collaborate with importers to gather missing information through telephone or email communications.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Process medium complexity air and ocean shipments, demonstrating a thorough understanding of Special Program Indicators (SPI) related to Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and Participating Government Agencies (PGAs).
  • Direct and coordinate a team of Customs Specialists in daily operational activities.
  • Ensure all customs entries are completed efficiently and within deadlines.
  • Develop initiatives for operational efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to defined processing standards.
  • Oversee operational account management, ensuring delivery against agreed scopes.
  • Handle escalations, including disputes with internal and external customers.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Identify training needs and opportunities for developing a highly skilled customs operations team.
  • Monitor and steer best-shored process elements.
  • Interact with Customer Service, Product, and Global Service Centers as necessary.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, or weekends.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in customs operations or a related area.
  • Extensive knowledge of customs requirements and operational processes.
  • Proven long-term experience in the customs segment.
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • High level of written, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • Diligent attention to detail.
  • Motivated to achieve success, inspire, and coach others, lead by example.

SHIFT: Monday-Friday

Pay Range $22,91 - $30,55 hourly + (Based on Experience)
