Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead a multi unit operation with a total annual budget of approximately 25 million. The GM will oversee all facets of operations across multiple food service locations, ensuring a seamless, high quality guest experience that emphasizes hospitality, food excellence, and team engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Owns the Guest Experience:
    Designs and leads a consistent, engaging, and hospitality driven experience across all units, not just the food, but the entire service environment.

  • Team Leadership and Development:
    Directly manages a team of 10 managers and supports a frontline staff of 60 associates. Develops leadership capabilities through regular coaching, performance reviews, and development plans.

  • Multi Unit and Catering Oversight:
    Oversees day to day operations at multiple cafe locations, including catering functions. Ensures operational consistency and excellence at every site.

  • Financial Accountability:
    Manages location budgets, labor, and food costs in partnership with Regional Directors. Drives financial performance and ensures adherence to fiscal goals.

  • Standards and Compliance:
    Ensures strict adherence to Compass Group and sector-specific guidelines, policies, and procedures, including all HR, safety, and sanitation protocols.

  • Operational Excellence:
    Collaborates with district and regional leadership to ensure the successful execution of programs, rollouts, and new unit openings. Maintains all operational timelines and deliverables.

  • Food Quality and Safety:
    Demonstrates a passion for high quality food, ensuring superior preparation, taste, and presentation. Leads with a safety first mindset in both food handling and workplace practices.

  • Client and Partner Relations:
    Acts as the primary liaison with our client partner, ensuring transparent, timely, and solution focused communication. Responds to all client and customer feedback within 24 hours.

  • Culture and People Management:
    Promotes a respectful, inclusive, and professional work culture. Champions employee engagement, retention, and recognition efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

  • You'll have a minimum of 5 years food service & multi-unit management experience

  • Excellent communication skills are a must - both written and verbal

  • Preferred experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations

  • Project management skills with previous new business development is preferred

  • Ability to create and execute new systems, processes and procedures

  • Financial acumen and proven track record of successful operations in previous roles

  • Manages time effectively and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to follow all Health & safety standards

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
