Data Scientist - Senior

This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance or the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph to be considered.

Cherokee Analytics is seeking a Data Scientist to design, implement, and operate data management systems for intelligence needs.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Data Scientist - Senior: $150,000-$175,000. Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Data Scientist - Senior Responsibilities Include:

  • Designs, develops, and evaluates leading-edge algorithmic intelligence concepts, practices, and technologies for implementation into all source analysis tradecraft, assessments, production, and dissemination.
  • Proposes advanced statistical or mathematical techniques and methodology that may permit identification and evaluation of alternatives, assists in model formulation or experimental test design, and shares jointly in team responsibility for development of advanced analytic techniques and assessments.
  • Evaluates data science, artificial intelligence, and other advanced analytic methods for risks, biases, and limitations that would distort conclusions.
  • Conducts continuous independent research on methods of analysis in government, industry, and academia to keep abreast of the state of the art, keeps senior leadership apprised of the advances and applicability to programs.
  • Uses in-depth knowledge of relevant theories, techniques, procedures and processes to investigate, prototype, and evaluate technologies to improve all source intelligence analysis.
  • Provide technical input into and participates in the development of software and computer graphics systems.
  • Performs research studies to understand the process of augmenting or automating all source analytic processes using various computer models.
  • Prepares and presents briefings to senior management to effectively communicate technical or complex issues.
  • Practical experience integrating intelligence community data into anomaly detection, linear, and logistic regression models.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Data Scientist - Senior Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Active TS/SCI with the willingness and ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience preferred with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Expert proficiency in Python coding on the JWICS network, to include the use of notebooks in intelligence community environments.
  • Practical experience developing and/or evaluating artificial intelligence and/or data science solutions to all source analysis tradecraft, assessments, production, and dissemination challenges.
  • Experience providing SQL database maintenance.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI, and QLIK.
  • Experience using JEMA or the low/no-code process automation tools.
  • Experience using DTRA targeting tools including VOLTRON and ANTS.
  • Ability to educate analytic teams on inherent biases, risks, and limitations that can arise with the artificial intelligence and related processes.
  • Experience with using design thinking and the AGILE process.
  • Practical experience with the development of the Kabana dashboard
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
